This course may be taken by anyone without any prior experience in Yoga, massage or bodywork. It is also an excellent choice for the “already trained” practitioners who want to review the basics and/or explore different ways of applying the versatile art of Northern Style Traditional Thai Massage.

We will examine palpatory skills and the unwinding, releasing process. This is a very hands-on class that provides the benefits of receiving craniosacral therapy as well developing a deeper understanding of the work.

A Heart-Based Practice
February 25 & 26 and April 22 & 23
Providing an atmosphere of calm and healing for your clients often can be as challenging as the technical skills in bodywork. Our non-physical heart is the center peace and joy within us. This class gives you the tools to access the calm in your heart at any time (including while working with clients), to shift your energy and to let the wonderful feelings from your heart spread to others. These tools can transform not only your whole bodywork but your whole life.
Instructors: Diana Stone PhD
Registration deadline for February: February 11, 2013
Registration deadline for April: April 8, 2013
Body Centering Through Somatic Re-Patterning
March 18 & 19
This class takes an in-depth look at structural patterning associated with locked emotional structural alignments that compromise body mechanics and functionality. We will follow the effects of the startle reflex through to the collapsed stance, providing an understanding of the effects these patterns have throughout the body and on an overall state of well-being. We will be offering the practitioner practical skills to assist with his or her client’s restructuring to a more balanced stance. This class uses an eclectic blend of unwinding and toning techniques that will send the client home with yoga postures to enhance the work done in the session.
Instructors: Caroline Stahlschmidt RYT, Dianna Lee LMT #2599
Registration deadline: March 4, 2013
Herbal Oil Infusions and Essential Oil Body Wraps
April 22 & 23
The benefits of herbs and essential oils are clearly appreciated. What is less understood is the use of the plant-based nutrients and their healing effects when applied in body wraps. We will learn to make oil infusions while decoding the formula for beneficial effects. We will explore effective and easy application methods to enhance services you can offer in your massage practice. We will cover marketing, ordering supplies and price breakdown.
Instructors: Dianna Lee LMT #2599
Registration deadline: April 8, 2013
Thai Foot Reflexology
May 20 & 21
No prerequisites necessary, this course is designed for the professional or for those interested in this healing modality. Thai Foot Massage is a relaxing yet invigorating treatment of the feet that was greatly influenced by two if its closest neighbors, China and India, and their reflexology systems that are thousands of years old. The Thais softened the Chinese reflexology, making it more pleasurable with a wide variety of sabaai relaxing techniques to offset the deeper jep techniques of the Chinese approach. The result is a blend of Chinese Reflexology, Thai acupressure points and Sen Line work along with wonderfully stimulating and relaxing hand techniques. This in-depth course teaches Thai Foot Reflexology theory, pressure points and techniques. Upon completion, you will be able to perform the unique 60-minute Thai Reflexology session.
